All prints in the shop are currently in sale 20% off, while quantities last. So if you’ve been looking at some, now is the time. It’s a studio sale clearance, and lots of these won’t be printed again!
Also, if you wanted a calendar this year but think you missed out, there’s a few still hanging around and have also been discounted! Head to the website shop to check everything out.

I thought I’d show my face around here for some #fridayintroductions, which I don’t believe I’ve ever done before. In case you wanted to know some random facts about me while you wait for more paintings to be created, here you go!
1. My hands are full of a squishy little boy instead of paintbrushes these days, and I’m ok with that. I am looking forward to a more consistent nap schedule so I can get back to creating though.
2. Give me ALL the dinosaurs and sharks. Seriously. All of them.
3. And Harry Potter. I’ll take all things J.K. touches, as I think she’s amazingly creative.
4. My husband has an obsession with computed glass, and so now I have a slightly problem with wanting to pick it up whenever I see it. My shelves are not impressed.
5. I’m married to a guy who goes to work and usually does on every shift. Oh, yeah, he’s a stunt performer.
6. I’m slowly (thanks baby) transitioning away from calligraphy and watercolour prints to fine art, as I’m feeling tapped out on lettering.
7. I regret not taking business classes alongside my art degree. Why you no teach us art business school?
There. 7 things is pretty good for this week.
So it’s been very quiet around here on my instagram. For me, my home has had more noise in it than usual though, thanks to this little guy.
So yes, just about 6 weeks ago, we had a baby boy. I was trying my hardest to finish up my painting challenge, and a large commission, before he arrived, but unfortunately I didn’t. I’ve been adjusting to life with a new addition in the home, and painting has taken a little bit of a back burner status. I hope to get back in the studio soon, finish my commission, finish my challenge, and finesse my website. I have big plans for it and my business, but will be taking small steps towards them, as there’s little feet that have priority of my time.
In the mean time, I thought I would just pop in to let you know where I’ve been, and to tell you that the website shop is still open, and I’m still shipping, even though all custom work is closed for the time being. Enjoy your last few days of summer vacation everyone!
I LOVE getting customer photos of your #daughterziondesigns in their new homes. It closes out the circle of creation for me, as I saw them from sketch to final painting, but then get to see them hung in your homes, where you will enjoy them and have them speak to you.
This piece was made for my old friend @lhamblet86 from high school! It’s from Alexandre Dumas, in the Count of Monte Cristo. The amazing part of this project though, is that she made those beautiful frames from scratch! And that headboard too. This woman is super talented behind the saw, and I’m always amazed at the projects she creates. Thanks for always documenting them Linds! It’s like getting to watch HGTV without buying cable!
