Workshops Now Available!

Have you been wanting to learn Modern Calligraphy? Well the time is finally here! Workshops are now available, and I'll be teaching you! These workshops are going to be in an intimate setting, with in-person, hands on teaching. Every student will get a full kit, which will give them everything needed to start a new hobby in calligraphy. The basic strokes will be taught, and then perfected as lowercase and uppercase alphabets are taught, as well as the rules of traditional calligraphy. Since the classes are for modern calligraphy, those traditional rules will be broken, which will result in personal, individual lettering styles, unique to each student.

Calligraphy is a great skill. Not only will you have a new technique to impress your friends with, but you'll also have a greater understanding of the art of lettering, and it's importance in our society! Handwriting will soon be a lost art, unless it is carried on through hobbyists and professionals...which after a little practice, could easily be you! You'll leave this workshop with a great understanding of the forms needed to create beautiful writing, which can allow you to address beautiful cards, make your own wedding invitations, or lovely pieces of artwork for gifts or your own home!

Your kit is fully included in the class cost, as well as some light refreshments. Grab a handful of friends, and let's set up a date! Classes can be held in your homes if you like, or feel free to come out to one of the pre-scheduled dates!

Send me an email if you would like to host a class, or head over to the workshop page to look at the dates already scheduled! I hope to see you soon, and get a pen in your hand!

Happy New Year!! (plus a freebie!)

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you all had fun on New Year's Eve, and are ready to hit 2016 with a new endurance and strength! I have a little January freebie wallpaper for you today, for your computer and your phone. Just click the images below to either save to your phone, or take you to Flickr to download various sizes! Let me know if you need any help in the comments.. I'd be happy to walk you through how to access the files!

I hope that this year will be a renewing for you all, and help push you towards growth, challenges, hope and revitalization. Have any of you set any goals? I've seen some people posting about the goals they are planning for 2016. I've also seen a trend leaning towards creating a word or mantra to focus on and get them through the year, as opposed to setting typical goals.

My New Years statement? Lean on Him. God will be getting me through the hard times, just as He has before. He has the strength that I could never imagine having. He has the power to create new things. I'm hoping that I can remember to always lean on Him, and allow Him to create new things in me.

A Look into My Bible - Illustrated Faith

Illustrated Faith is a art based form of worship that I found through Instagram. I learned about it more through Shanna Noel's blog, as well as through others on Instagram. Search the hashtag #illustratedfaith on Instagram, and search it on Pinterest too, to find lots of other Bible journaling artists. Even if you aren't artistic, I think that everyone is able to worship God through this format!

Steady Grace & Steady Heart

Lately, I've this song on repeat. Steady Heart by Steffany Gretzinger is a song that can pull you out of the darkness, with a wonderful reminder that God is good, always faithful, and is a steady force through any up and down. I've been playing it alongside the Bethel song It Is Well, using the words of both of these songs to remind me to continue to lean on Him. I don't know why I haven't made a design based on either of these songs before (since when I said I've had the song on repeat, I mean, it's been on repeat since the album came out last year!), but I'm glad that I finally made some room to get a little bit of the lyrics out on paper.

I hope that it can be a reminder for you in your home, in the same way that it has been for me. Take a listen to the song in the video below, and if you love the print, you can pick it up in my shop here

May His faithfulness see you through the tough stuff this week, this month, and this year.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
— Psalm 136:1

so.....Welcome to December! Can you believe it's here? Considering it was still 15*C last week (and I'm in Ontario, Canada) I wasn't totally prepared for December. This fall has just felt like one long mild October, so Christmas has always been way off in my mind. Knowing now that it's only a few weeks away comes with a little bit of a shock for me. Somehow, I've managed to remember to make you guys your free desktop and phone wallpapers downloads! You can click the images to take you to Flickr to download, or just save the images to your computer or device!
