017/100 of the 100dayprojectdzd in Hawaii. My sister @ali_happer (who also took this photo and video 🙌🏻) has this little instead camera and the palms I painted are inspired by one of her snaps! You can see a little video of the painting in action from if you swipe right. The colours of this painting are inspired by the flowers in our leis we got at the luau this night! They were so vibrant and beautiful!
016/100 of #the100dayprojectdzd So we are on vacation in Hawaii, and I’m in love with all the vegetation. Across the road for #pipeline we found a forest with the floor covered in snakeplants. I was pumped! They became my inspiration for Wednesday painting...which I promptly forgot to photograph in the light. Thankfully I have the amazing @ali_happer here with me and took some photos for me. The first photo of my painting if by her, and hopefully there will be more to come.
015/100 of #the100dayprojectdzd is brought to you by my little tray on United Airlines and my homemade watercolour travel kit. As much I didn’t want to do much, if any, watercolour on this challenge, going away for 10 days and bringing other paints just wasn’t possible. So out my palette came. This little landscape stretched my brain as I tried out some new techniques, which were a little harder than expected. I also learned that painting clouds in watercolour is tough! Well, at least I have the next week and a bit to practice! . . Since I am traveling, I only brought my sketchbook. 014/100 of #the100dayprojectdzd Finally caught up! Some unexpected events (a trip to the ER) set me@back last week, and having an extra day at home today helped me have some extra painting time. This piece had me using my acrylics really watered down, preparing me to transition back to watercolours while I’m on my trip this week. I used my most favourite white acrylic marker for the outlines. 012/100 of #the100dayprojectdzd As today’s weather of snow and freezing rain is delaying our travel plans (literally...flight is delayed) I’m dreaming of warmer days and new blooms and cute little bees.
